Lego and DC are back at it again with their newest animated adventure Shazam! Magic and Monsters.
The trailer for the upcoming straight-to-home entertainment release promises more of the zany antics we've all come to expect from the combined worlds of bricks and superheroes. Although the focus is on Shazam!, it looks like most of the Justice League players are participating in the hijinks. Maybe DC is worried the character can't carry one of these on his own? We're also introduced to Black Adam in this sneak preview that promises fun for the whole family. These movies are hit and miss for me, but my kids sure love them. Check out the trailer below.
10-year-old Billy Batson shouts a single word and, with lightning bolts flashing, he transforms into Shazam!, a full-fledged adult superhero. It doesn’t take long for Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and the rest of the Justice League to take notice and invite the earnest do-gooder to join the team. But to become a member, Billy must reveal his true identity. While fighting off the evil Mr. Mind and Black Adam, Billy learns that he must trust others – and that nothing creates trust like helping those in need.
Matt Peters (LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Aquaman – Rage of Atlantis) directed LEGO DC: Shazam! Magic and Monsters. It stars Sean Astin as the title character. Troy Baker, Nolan North, Grey Griffin, Christina Milizia, and James Arnold Taylor co-star.
LEGO DC: Shazam! Magic and Monsters hits Digital on April 28, 2020 and Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on June 16, 2020.
