I love vampires and I love superhero comic books. It would seem that Marvel and Sony's upcoming Morbius movie was tailor-made just for me. The first trailer from the film, which stars Jared Leto as the lead character definitely piqued my interest. I'm not going to say that it got me hyped up to a fever pitch or anything. However, they have my attention and I will see the movie. Leto looks like he is really pouring himself into the role and is committed to it fully. If Venom taught me anything, it is to not underestimate this extended universe Sony is dedicated to bringing to fruition. It also proved that you don't need Spider-Man to build an alternate Spider-Verse if you have an appealing anti-hero. Check out the trailer after the jump.
One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.
Morbius was directed by Daniel Espinosa. It stars Jared Leto, Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson. The movie is not yet rated.
