What Movies Can We Expect from Marvel in the Future?

I can’t believe Avengers: Endgame brought the Marvel Cinematic Universe to an end! Just kidding – the MCU will continue on, with some old and new faces. And now, thanks to a new report about salary negotiations for various Marvel actors, we have an idea of what’s in store. While new players like The Eternals and Shang-Chi are on the horizon, you can also expect more Thor, in some form. And the previously-delayed Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 is scheduled to start shooting as soon as next year. More on the future MCU films below. Spoilers for Endgame follow.

Did You Notice How the Marvel Studios Intro Changed in Avengers: Endgame? [SPOILERS]

The flipping comic book pages that morph into the Marvel logo has become one of the most recognizable images in pop culture today. But since the Marvel Studios logo was introduced — first showing up in its modern form in 2002’s Spider-Man before the studio was even established — it has slowly evolved. Ten years of one logo can get a little tiresome, after all, and with Marvel becoming a bigger behemoth with each record-breaking film, you’ve got to have an awesome logo to match. But the Marvel Studios logo in Avengers: Endgame quietly changed in a way that was more than just a rebrand.

Home Entertainment Review: Justice League vs. The Fatal Five

DC's live-action movies have been under scrutiny over the years, with Wonder Woman and Aquaman course correcting the DCEU as of late. One thing they've managed to do is keep the quality of their animated features at a high level that mostly can't be challenged. Justice League vs. The Fatal Five keeps that trend going at full speed.

The fate of the Earth hangs in the balance when the Justice League faces the Fatal Five. The time-travelling band are terrorizing Metropolis in search of the budding Green Lantern in Justice League vs. The Fatal Five.

I was so happy to hear Kevin Conroy voicing the character he was born to in Justice League vs. The Fatal Five. Some of the newer DC animated features have had Bruce Greenwood or someone else voicing the Dark Knight. Although they do an admirable job, Conroy always adds an extra level of legitimacy to any of the films he brings his talent to. The rest of the voice cast delivers great performances as well.

The addition of female Green Lantern Jessica Cruz is a great addition to our legion of super heroes. She is a perfect example of someone overcoming their fears, rising to the occasion to achieve personal goals and, well, save the world. A strong female example for my daughter to look up to. It's amazing how your perspective on the world and gender changes when you are the father of a young girl.

A fine pace is kept up when it comes to action and exhibition in Justice League vs. The Fatal Five. There are big battles full of brawn and spectacular explosions. Strangely, my older self wishes there was a bit more downtime for plot. However, as a 77-minute comic book movie it sets everything up well as far as story goes and then just gets to what everyone is really watching it for - the literal fight between super-powered heroes and villains.

Justice League vs. The Fatal Five is rated PG-13 for sequences of sci-fi violence, some bloody images, language and partial nudity. I have to say there's a lot of profanity that is unnecessary and seems to be here for nothing more than to make the movie more "mature." The partial nudity is played for laughs, as Starboy appears on Earth naked and doesn't understand it's not socially acceptable. There's no frontal nudity, just his backside and the rest of the body.

The Blu-ray edition of Justice League vs. The Fatal Five comes with all sorts of fun extras. Audio commentary is provided by Executive Producer Bruce Timm, Director Sam Liu, and Screenwriters Jim Krieg and Eric Carrasco. A couple featurettes take us behind-the-scenes of the movie. We also get a sneak peek at the upcoming Batman: Hush animated movie coming out. Two extras bring us what they call Sneak Peek Revisited, which gives us a look at past animated movies like Justice League Dark and Justice League vs. Teen Titans. Episodes of Justice League Unlimited and Legion of Superheroes from the DC Vaults round out the extras.

Get Ready for Texas Frightmare Weekend 2019 - May 3rd, 4th, and 5th!

Texas Frightmare Weekend is my all-time favorite convention and I am excited for it's return to the Hyatt Regency DFW Airport in Dallas, TX this coming Friday, May 3rd through Sunday, May 5th. Anyone who keeps up with my site knows my love for horror films and the actors and makers behind them. The lineup this year is one that will thrill genre fans of many different eras.

Texas Frightmare Weekend is presented by Arrow Video. Now celebrating its 14th year, the event takes place annually in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. True to its motto, “The Southwest’s Premier Horror Convention”, our goal is to provide fans with an unrivaled experience by celebrating all aspects of genre films. Texas Frightmare Weekend hosts celebrity appearances, autograph signings, screenings, exclusive parties and horror memorabilia vendors from all over the country. The event is also extremely proud to have featured the rising talents of many Texas “Frightmakers” in screenings, panel discussions and Q and A’s.

This year’s movie guests include Tim Curry, Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, Lance Henriksen, Lee Majors, and more. Robert Englund heads up a Nightmare on Elm Street Celebration featuring actors Heather Langenkamp, Lisa Wilcox, and many more. Meatloaf and Scott Ian and Charlie Benante from Anthrax are this year's exciting musical guests. All guests will be on hand to greet fans Friday, Saturday, and Sunday unless otherwise noted. Potential exists for unavoidable cancellations or schedule changes. Be sure you check the website before purchasing single day tickets.

All sorts of different activities are happening at Texas Frightmare Weekend as well. Tons of vendors line the corridors of their convention halls, from DVDs, books, replica props, , action figures, t-shirts, and more. There are also feature and short film fests, live music, parties, and a silent auction benefiting Stop the Stigma.

If you're a horror fanatic, you do not want to miss the opportunity to go to Texas Frightmare Weekend. I've been going for over a decade now and every year is an absolute blast. There's plenty to do and too much to take in just one day, so I suggest getting weekend passes.

Tickets, a full guest list, and more are available at www.texasfrightmareweekend.com.

Hollywood Matrimony Review: Avengers: Endgame

I have always maintained that Winter Soldier was my favorite Marvel movie to date, but Avengers: Endgame has official surpassed it. This film fully lives up to its title in every way and brings plenty of heartache, laughs, emotion, fun and overall awesomeness like never before. The vastness of this film makes Infinity War feel small in comparison, but is small when it needs to be. This is the finale we needed to this first epic storyline while still building the future that Marvel has in store. Make sure to see this film on the biggest and loudest screen you can, but be sure to bring your tissues and think twice about the beverages since there is no good time for a bathroom break.

The Moral Majority: Avengers: Endgame

AVENGERS: ENDGAME picks up five years later where the last movie left off, with the remaining Avengers still mourning the loss of their friends at the hands of Thanos, but deciding they must find a way to go back in time and defeat Thanos once and for all. Some plot points are unresolved and some storylines are left hanging, and there’s lots of foul language, some other edgy, immoral content, and even a few tedious, annoying moments in AVENGERS: ENDGAME, but the movie has a unifying, emotionally powerful, morally uplifting main plot that extols family and fatherhood.

Dark Phoenix Reshoots Changed the Setting of the Climax

You know what’s exciting? Space! The final frontier! Vast and mysterious! But who needs space when you can have…a train. At least, that was the thinking behind the Dark Phoenix reshoots. A new piece about the production reveals that the filmmakers behind the latest X-Men movie changed the film’s big climactic action setting from being in outer space to being on board a train, which is probably just as thrilling. Maybe.
