Booster Gold Teams with Catwoman in Batman #46

"Booster Gold's time-traveling high jinks have left Gotham in disarray, and its up to Catwoman to help him fix things in a preview of this week's Batman #46 (via DCComics.com)."

Read more at Newsarama.

Any time Booster Gold shows up is a great time to jump into any title. I love the character and the element of fun and humor he adds to any situation thrown at him. The DC Cinematic Universe could possibly be saved with a healthy dose of Booster Gold.

Third Annabelle Movie Coming to Haunt Us

"EW has learned that Conjuring universe puppet master James Wan is prepping a third Annabelle movie. The new installment in the series about the haunted doll — first featured in Wan’s 2013 supernatural blockbuster The Conjuring — will be released on July 3, 2019. The film will be written and directed by first-time filmmaker Gary Dauberman. Dauberman’s writing credits include 2014’s Annabelle and 2017’s Annabelle: Creation, and It as well as Corin Hardy’s upcoming The Nun (out Sept. 7) and It: Chapter 2."

Read more at Entertainment Weekly.

I thought Annabelle: Creation was an improvement on the first film. I'm very interested in seeing where Gary Dauberman takes the third entry in the Annabelle series. It's very hard for me to imagine another scenario since the second movie ended by tying directly into the first one. Maybe they could go straight bonkers and have someone steal it out of the Warrens' home museum.

Movie Review: Avengers: Infinity War

This is not spoiler-free but it retracts from any major spoilers or plot points from Avengers: Infinity War. It uses examples to get points across without context.

If the Russo brothers made a statement with Captain America: Civil War, it was that the Marvel Cinematic Universe was moving towards a much more serious tone.

If the Russo brothers made a statement with Avengers: Infinity War, it was the Civil War was child's play compared to what is coming and is present in this movie.

Avengers: Infinity War opens almost immediately after Thor: Ragnarok. We are immediately introduced to Thanos and the Black Order. We see the might and power of Thanos first hand as he talks about his quest for the Infinity Stones and how he will acquire them. He also holds his own in a fight against one of the greatest Avengers. This is but a taste of the might of Thanos that we will see over the course of these next two and a half hours.

The relationships and tension between the characters throughout Avengers: Infinity War was a lot different than I expected it to be, in all the right ways. It was serious, while still containing humor. The dialogue and plot were very well thought out as well.

The highlights of Avengers: Infinity War were seeing all your favorite heroes together. Thanos' motives and performance are jaw-dropping and emotional. The trials and tribulations we see our heroes go through are absolutely filled with risks and consequences.

While Avengers: Infinity War in itself was phenomenal, there were a couple issues I had with it. One was some minor VFX renderings that didn't pull me out of the movie, but also didn't look amazing at some points. The only other thing besides that was the fact that it does feel like the first half of a two part story. That's not a bad thing at all. In fact, it is so incredibly well done that I don't even know if I can consider it an issue!

Avengers: Infinity War has changed the superhero movie for good. It left a lasting impact on the MCU and gives us some of the most haunting imagery in the MCU to date. The final shot alone will leave viewers speechless.

Avengers: Infinity War is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action throughout, language and some crude references.

Anthony Russo and Joe Russo directed Avengers: Infinity War from a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The movie stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hiddleston, Zoe Saldana, and Chris Pratt. Its running time is 149 minutes.

Rating: 9 / 10 stars.

S.J. Clarkson Becomes First Female to Direct a Star Trek Movie

The two biggest sci-fi franchises may have a historical rivalry with each other, but when it comes to giving fair shakes to females and breaking new ground Star Wars and Star Trek filmmakers seem to be on the same page. Paramount Pictures announced yesterday via CinemaCon that Star Trek 4 will be helmed by a female. The announcement comes on the heels of Lucasfilm letting everyone know that Victoria Mahoney will serve as Second Unit Director on Star Wars: Episode IX.

"S.J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones, Orange is the New Black) has been tapped to direct Star Trek 4, making her the first female to helm a film in the Star Trek franchise.

Paramount Pictures had no comment. The studio announced at CinemaCon in Las Vegas that it was planning a fourth movie with Chris Hemsworth, who appeared as Chris Pine’s father in 2009’s Star Trek. Zachary Quinto is also set to return. Paramount is developing another Star Trek film from J.J. Abrams and Quentin Tarantino, but sources say it is still being written and would come after the fourth movie.

While details on Star Trek 4 are vague, sources say a key plot point sees Pine’s character running into his father (Hemsworth) in a time travel ploy."

Are You Prepared to Enter The Jurassic Games? [VIDEO]

This looks R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S. Just in time to beat Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom to the punch, we get Uncork'd Entertainment's The Jurassic Games. This looks like tons of fun if you're into The Asylum's mockbusters and so-bad-they're-good Syfy Channel Original Films. I don't know how it's possible, but Writer / Director Ryan Bellgardt has singlehandedly found a way to mash together the ingredients of Jurassic Park, The Hunger Games, and The Running Man into one unforgettable sci-fi B-movie bonanza... from what we can tell from the trailer at least.

Uncork'd Entertainment's press release was just too crazy to not share.

Win the games. Win Your freedom.

The dinomite mash-up of the summer, The Jurassic Games stops onto VOD this June from Uncork'd Entertainment!

Starring Ryan Merriman (Final Destination 3) and Perrey Reeves (Entourage), the film imagines a world set in the near future wherein ten Death Row convicts are chosen to compete in The Jurassic Games, the ultimate virtual reality game show that pits its players against dinosaurs and each other. However, there is a catch… If you die in the virtual game, you also die in reality; and for Anthony Tucker (Adam Hampton), survival is his one chance to be reunited with his children after having been wrongfully imprisoned for the murder of his wife. As the devious The Host continues adding improbable challenges, the characters will find the odds stacked against them as only one victor can emerge as winner and reclaim their freedom.

The Jurassic Games is the third film from Emmy Award-winning director Ryan Bellgardt (Gremlin, Army of Frankensteins).

The Jurassic Games will be available on Digital 6/12 and DVD 7/3.

Official Synopsis : Every year, 10 of the world’s most lethal death row criminals are chosen to compete for their freedom in The Jurassic Games, a television show where contestants must survive against a variety of ferocious dinosaurs. The players all die gruesomely in the game zone except for one, the last one standing, the winner, who is granted not only his freedom, but fame and fortune. Survive the dinosaurs. Survive each other. Survive…The Jurassic Games.

Movie Geek Feed's First Reactions to Avengers: Infinity War

Movie Geek Feed sent two folks to the press screening of Avengers: Infinity War yesterday afternoon. The verdict is in: the movie is great! MGF writer Everett Shirey and guest Ron Fields were present at the Dallas premiere of Avengers: Infinity War and came out impressed by what they saw. Check out their initial reactions below.

"It's phenomenal... extremely dark and pulls no punches. It does feel like half of an overall story like a lot of people have been saying. It jumps around a lot, but it's fantastic," Everett stated.

Ron proclaimed, "It was amazing!!!! It was very very well done. Thanos almost steals the show. The film flowed very well... Mixed the characters well. It was intense, funny, with lots of action."

A more detailed review of Avengers: Infinity War will be coming in the VERY near future.

Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet -- the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.

Avengers: Infinity War begins April 27, 2018.

Watch the Entire Avengers: Infinity War Press Conference Right Here!

"Snitches end up in ditches," said by Paul Bettany (aka Vision) during the Avengers: Infinity War conference at the film’s Beverly Hills press junket, was pretty much the theme of the event, as Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, directors Anthony and Joe Russo and much of the cast did their best to dodge specifics when it came to answering questions about the highly anticipated next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This time, Disney changed things up by having moderator Jeff Goldblum randomly direct questions to specific panelists or about specific topics, which led to some fun and funny responses, but definitely no spoilers. Watch some of the highlights of the press conference in the video above.

The press conference featured Dave Bautista (“Drax”), Paul Bettany (“Vision”), Chadwick Boseman (“T’Challa / Black Panther”), Josh Brolin (“Thanos”), Don Cheadle (“James Rhodes / War Machine”), Benedict Cumberbatch (“Dr Stephen Strange”), Robert Downey Jr. (“Tony Stark / Iron Man”), Winston Duke (“M’Baku”), Danai Gurira (“Okoye”), Chris Hemsworth (“Thor”), Tom Hiddleston “Loki”), Tom Holland (“Peter Parker / Spider-Man”), Scarlett Johansson (“Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow”), Pom Klementieff (“Mantis”), Anthony Mackie (“Sam Wilson / Falcon”), Elizabeth Olsen (“Wanda Maximoff / Scarlett Witch”), Chris Pratt (“Peter Quill / Star-Lord”), Mark Ruffalo (“Bruce Banner / The Hulk”), Zoe Saldana (“Gamora”), Sebastian Stan (“Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier”), Letitia Wright (“Shuri”), Director Anthony Russo, Director Joe Russo and Producer Kevin Feige.

Watch the New Venom Trailer That Actually Features Venom Here Now!

A new trailer for Venom has popped up online and gives us our first look at the lead character in the flesh. Honestly, I'm intrigued by what I'm seeing and am digging Tom hardy's performance here. I'm still trying to process the CGI and don't quite know how I feel about its quality. I do finally feel like we're given an idea as to what sort of movie we're going to be watching. I'm expecting a chase movie sort of in the vein of The Fugitive blended with a superhero movie - sort of like 2008's The Incredible Hulk.

The only thing that has me worried is there isn't a "bad guy" shown in the trailer that Venom will go up against. We only see several different people which have been exposed to the Venom goo. Personally, I think Woody Harrelson is going to play Carnage and he's being saved for another trailer down the road.

One of Marvel's most enigmatic and complex characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom.

Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott. Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) directs from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel (Terra Nova, Saving Mr. Banks), Will Beall (Training Day TV Series, Gangster Squad), Scott Rosenberg (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Con Air), and Jeff Pinkner (Fringe, Lost).

Venom oozes into theaters October 5th, 2018.
