Ringo Starr Bringing His All-Starr Band to the Toyota Music Factory THIS Friday, Nov. 3rd!

The Pavilion Intimate Theater at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, TX is quickly gaining the reputation as being a premiere spot for legendary rockers to stop on their U.S. tours. Imagine a venue, both inside and outdoors, that fits a capacity crowd somewhere between the American Airlines Center and the Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas, TX with a solid sound system and plenty of space for folks to mingle together outside of the main concert area. Ex-Beatle drummer Ringo Star and His All-Starr Band will be hitting the stage there on November 3rd.

Although best known for playing the drums for The Beatles from 1962 to 1970, Ringo Starr also sang lead vocals on or helped write several famous songs the Fab Four are known for. "With a Little Help from My Friends," "Yellow Submarine," "Good Night," "Octopus's Garden,"and their cover of "Act Naturally" immediately come to mind. However, most people will remember him as the grinning mop-top sitting behind the drums pounding gleefully away to songs like “She Loves You,” “I Want To Hold Your Hand,” and “Twist and Shout.”

Just like all The Beatles, Starr began a solo career In the 1970s that quickly gained him his own personal following. His albums have sold millions of copies and garnered the musician several top 10 hits. Starr is also a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee not only with The Beatles, but as a solo artist as well.

Ringo is out on the road in support of his 19th studio album, "Give More Love." The record came out September 15th and contains 10 tracks co-written by the likes of Peter Frampton, Van Dyke Parks, Richard Marx, Dave Stewart, and Gary Nicholson. It contains mostly rock songs and a country track. Fellow ex-Beatle Paul McCartney even plays bass and provides backing vocals on a couple of the tracks.

An alternating line-up of familiar musicians from other famous bands make up Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band when they hit the road on different tours. Recently, the group was made up of Steve Lukather (Toto), Gregg Rolie (Santana and Journey), Todd Rundgren (Nazz, Utopia and The New Cars), Richard Page (Mr. Mister), and Warren Ham (Bloodrock , Kansas, and AD). You never know who might show up when Ringo takes the stage in any given city.

The Pavilion Intimate Theater at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, TX will be host to Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band on Friday November 3rd. The show starts at 8:00PM. Tickets are on sale now and range from $55 to $200. The capacity of the Intimate Theater is only 2,500 people, so the show will sell out. For more information or to buy tickets, go to the venue’s official website. Don't miss your opportunity to see the legendary former Beatle perform his hits and much more live and in-person.

DC Looks to Scare Readers To Death with 3 Halloween Books

I wish I had better things to say about DC House of Horror #1. Keith Giffen plots out eight tales of terror featuring Superman, the Justice League, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Harley Quinn, Two-Face, Batman, and Shazam. At first, we get a couple short twisted stories that seem witty and inspired. A pattern begins to form and predictability sets in as we see each hero just turned into a monster of themselves, usually caused by insanity of some type.

In DC House of Horror #1, Martha Kent fights for her life against a creature from a spacecraft that lands in front of her farmhouse. A young woman is possessed by the spirit of a murderous Amazon warrior. The last surviving member of the Justice League faces down a horror beyond imagining. These are just a sample of what to expect from the six tales featured in this Halloween-inspired one-shot.

The artwork definitely makes it easier to move through these tales, provided by the likes of Howard Chaykin, Rags Morales, Tom Raney, Kyle Baker, Scott Kolins, and other great talents. The book is rated "T+" for Teen Plus and contains unnecessary partial nudity, profanity, violence, gore, and frightening and intense scenes.

If you're looking for tales of terror targeted towards a younger audience for the Halloween season, you can check out a special Halloween Comic Fest edition of Batman #7 entitled "Night of the Monster Men" brought to you by the creative team of Steve Orlando, Tom King and Riley Rossmo. It's the storm of the century, and it's headed straight for Gotham City.

The guardians of this sprawling urban center - Nightwing, Batwoman and the Batman himself - think they've prepared for the worst. They have no idea. Thanks to the machinations of the macabre scientist Dr. Hugo Strange, the storm has unleashed a rain of monsters upon the city. Colossal creatures are stomping through the streets, terrorizing the citizens and challenging the skills of even Gotham's greatest heroes. Can the Dark Knight and his allies stem the tide of destruction? Or will the Night of the Monster Men mark the fall of the Bat?

Halloween Comic Fest's DC Super Hero Girls #1 special edition gives all ages readers two tales from the upcoming "Past Times at Super Hero High" graphic novel written by Shea Fontana and illustrated by Yancey Labat and Agnes Garbowska. The students of Super Hero High go on a one-of-a-kind field trip that will allow them to learn about history up close and personal! After a time machine mishap, Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, and company travel back in time! How will their adventures in the past affect their future?

DC House of Horror Rating: 🌟🌟 and a half.

New Team Member Joins "Legends of Tomorrow"

"There's a new team member aboard the Waverider, and she's not exactly what the Legends are used to. Zari's (Tala Ashe) life was saved by the Legends in the future dystopian Seattle when a resurrected Kuasa (Tracy Ifcheafor) tried to kill her and take her totem. Because metahumas were illegal in the future (run by a seemingly corrupt militarized ARGUS), Zari unhappily agreed to join the Legends in their crusade to fix time by the end of the episode, only because she had no other options."
