“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” Soundtrack To Feature Hans Zimmer And Rodrigo Y Gabriela

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN : ON STRANGER TIDES SOUNDTRACK TO FEATURE FIRST-TIME COLLABORATION WITH OSCAR®-WINNING COMPOSER HANS ZIMMER AND ACCLAIMED GUITAR DUO RODRIGO Y GABRIELA

SOUNDTRACK SET FOR RELEASE ON WALT DISNEY RECORDS MAY 17th

(February 17 -- Burbank , CA ) –One of summer’s most highly anticipated blockbuster movies, Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” features original music by Academy Awardâ-winning composer Hans Zimmer and a first-time collaboration with the internationally acclaimed Mexican guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela. Walt Disney Records will release the soundtrack for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" May 17, 2011.

“We’d always felt it a creative necessity that the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 4’ score have an original sound all its own and to distinguish itself from the first three films. With the inspiring addition of Rodrigo y Gabriela’s unique artistry under the direction of maestro Hans ‘Long John’ Zimmer, this iconic score franchise take its next step forward with an imaginative, fresh and individual new sound,” says Mitchell Leib, President of Music and Soundtracks for the Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Group and Disney Music Group.

Hans Zimmer is one of the film industry’s most respected and sought-after composers with a career that encompasses more than 100 film and television scores. An Academy Award® winner for his score for "The Lion King," Zimmer has also received eight additional Oscar® nominations for his work including "Inception," "Sherlock Holmes," "Gladiator," "The Thin Red Line," "Rain Man," "As Good as It Gets," "The Preacher’s Wife" and "The Prince of Egypt." Other recent credits include Rango, The Dark Knight and Batman Begins. Among his many honors, Zimmer has also won two Golden Globes® and three Grammy Awards®.

Rodrigo y Gabriela are considered the premier guitar-playing duo in the world. They have sold over one million albums, have sold out arenas and headlined festivals worldwide, and in 2010 they were invited to share the stage with Beyonce for a state dinner at the White House. The collaboration with Hans Zimmer is their first film score-an exciting and defining moment in their career. Their willingness to explore musical expression and to embrace new sounds irrespective of fashion or trends, as well as their point blank refusal to be pigeonholed as any particular genre, is the very foundation of Rodrigo y Gabriela.

Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Rob Marshall, “Pirates of the Caribbean : On Stranger Tides” captures the fun, adventure and humor that ignited the hit franchise—this time in Disney Digital 3D™. Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in an action-packed adventure. Crossing paths with the enigmatic Angelica (Penelope Cruz), he’s not sure if it’s love—or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the “Queen Anne’s Revenge,” the ship of the legendary pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know whom to fear more: Blackbeard or Angelica, with whom he shares a mysterious past. The international cast includes franchise vets Geoffrey Rush as the vengeful Captain Hector Barbossa and Kevin R. McNally as Captain Jack’s longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs, plus Sam Claflin as a stalwart missionary and Astrid Berges-Frisbey as a mysterious mermaid.

Walt Disney Pictures’ and Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” with screenplay by Ted Elliott & Terry Rossio, suggested by the novel by Tim Powers opens in theaters May 20, 2011, in Disney Digital 3D™.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" original motion picture soundtrack will be available wherever music is sold on May 17, 2011. MARS NEED MOMS: “Stay Cool” Lyrics

YO, THERE COULD BE LIFE UP ON THE MOON
OR SOME PLANET OR ANOTHER
BUT WHAT KIND OF ALIENS
WOULD KIDNAP YOUR MOTHER?

MARS NEEDS MOMS
MARS NEEDS MOMS

CAN'T EVEN TELL
IS THAT A BOY OR A GIRL?
THEY LOOK SO NASTY
MAKE A ROBOT HURL.

NOW SING IT…
MARS NEEDS MOMS

NOW HE’S SEEING ALL THE SIGHTS
KICKING BUTT
TAKING COVER
BUT HE’LL FIGHT THE ALIENS
TO GET BACK HIS MOTHER!

MARS NEEDS MOMS

MARS NEEDS MOMS

YOU GOTTA STAY COOL
NOT MANIC
DON’T PANIC
JUST STAY CALM

Kyle Kingson has it all - looks, intelligence, wealth and opportunity - and a wicked cruel streak. Prone to mocking and humiliating "aggressively unattractive" classmates, he zeroes in on Goth classmate Kendra, inviting her to the school's extravagant environmental bash. Kendra accepts, and, true to form, Kyle blows her off in a particularly savage fashion. She retaliates by casting a spell that physically transforms him into everything he despises. Enraged by his horrible and unrecognizable appearance he confronts Kendra and learns that the only solution to the curse is to find someone that will love him as he is - a task he considers impossible. Repulsed by his appearance, Kyle's callous father banishes him to Brooklyn with a sympathetic housekeeper and blind tutor. As Kyle ponders how to overcome the curse and get his old life back, he chances upon a drug addict in the act of killing a threatening dealer. Seizing the opportunity, Kyle promises the addict freedom and safety for his daughter, Lindy if she will consent to live in Kyle's Brooklyn home. Thus begins Kyle's journey to discover true love in this hyper-modern retelling of the classic "Beauty and the Beast" story.

TEXAS FRIGHTMARE WEEKEND GUESTS: Eihi Shiina and Yoshihiro Nishimura

GUESTS: Eihi Shiina and Yoshihiro Nishimura

Eihi Shiina Yoshihiro Nishimura

AUDITION star Eihi Shiina and TOKYO GORE POLICE director and special effects artist Yoshihiro Nishimura are confirmed to attend this year's edition of the southwest's premier horror convention and film festival (April 29 - May 1). This will mark the first time that Shiina has made an appearance of this nature in the United States.

Eihi Shiina was a model (primarily for Benetton) from Fukuoka, Japan prior to her iconic performance in filmmaking legend Takashi Miike's AUDITION (1999). Recent films include Nishimura's TOKYO GORE POLICE (2008), Nishimura's and Naoyuki Tomomatsu's VAMPIRE GIRL VS FRANKENSTEIN GIRL (2009) and Nishimura's HELLDRIVER (2010). She will next be seen in Takeshi Kitano's latest film, OUTRAGE, which comes out in the US later this year from Magnolia Pictures.

Born in Tokyo in 1967, Yoshihiro Nishimura taught himself to do special effects, and went on to found one of the busiest special effects makeup companies in Japan, Nishi-Eizo, which has practically created a genre unto itself, with work on films ranging from SUICIDE CLUB (2001), L: CHANGE THE WORLD (2008), and GOTHIC AND LOLITA PSYCHO (2010). He began making short films in high school and college, and directed his first short film, ANATOMIA EXTINCTION (1995), providing the template for TOKYO GORE POLICE (2008). Nishimura has also been closely associated with the work of Sion Sono, contributing effects and production design to SUICIDE CLUB (2001), EXTE: HAIR EXTENSIONS (2007) and many others. Nishimura then co-directed VAMPIRE GIRL VS. FRANKENSTEIN GIRL (2009) with Tomomatsu, and made MUTANT GIRLS SQUAD (2010) for Sushi Typhoon with Noboru Iguchi and Tak Sakaguchi. One of the busiest creative forces in the low-budget Japanese film industry, his main project for 2010 was the completion of the Sushi Typhoon-produced zombie action epic HELLDRIVER, which had its World Premiere last October at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain.

Both Shiina and Nishimura will be appearing at Texas Frightmare Weekend to preview the DVD/Blu-Ray release of MUTANT GIRLS SQUAD on May 24th from TFW sponsor FUNimation as well as the Dallas-area premiere of HELLDRIVER which will screen Friday, April 29 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Irving, Texas.

Disneytoon Studios Announces "Planes"

New High-Flying Feature-Length Comedy Adventure With A Fleet Of Fun New Characters

BURBANK, Calif. – February 17, 2011 – The sky’s the limit as DisneyToon Studios proudly announces PLANES – a spectacular, full-length CG animated comedy action adventure movie for everyone set high above the world of "CARS." "PLANES" will introduce an entirely original and hilarious crew of daredevils from every corner of the globe and draws inspiration from the immensely popular Disney•Pixar’s "CARS" world. "PLANES" will arrive on Blu-ray™ and DVD in Spring 2013.

“We had such a great time exploring the world of ‘Cars’ over the course of two films, so it seemed only natural for us to see where our imaginations would take us in a film where planes were the main characters. By expanding the Cars world, ‘Planes’ gave us a whole new set of fun-filled situations and a great opportunity to introduce some fantastic new characters,” commented John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer, Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios. “The team at DisneyToon Studios has done such an amazing job creating a heartfelt story filled with great comedy, adventure, and emotion. I know audiences are going to love taking off into the wild blue yonder with these daredevil characters, as they experience a whole new kind of animated adventure.”

"PLANES" takes off with an international cast of the fastest air racers around, in a comedy packed with action and adventure starring Dusty, a small town dreamer who longs to enter the most epic around-the-world air race … despite his fear of heights. With the help and support of a fleet of new and hilarious characters, Dusty wings his way into the biggest challenge of his life.

Zoo Atlanta and DreamWorks Animation Announce Panda Cub’s New Name

Jack Black Po Kung Fu Panda 2 Panda Atlanta Zoo
100 Day Celebration Features Appearance by Actor Jack Black from “Kung Fu Panda” and “Kung Fu Panda 2”

ATLANTA – February 15, 2011 ― Officials at Zoo Atlanta and DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. (Nasdaq: DWA) have issued a joint announcement that the only giant panda cub born in the U.S. in 2010 has a name: Po . The name is a tribute to the lead character, Po the panda, in the upcoming DreamWorks Animation film, "Kung Fu Panda 2," which will be distributed by Paramount Pictures starting on May 26, 2011.

The announcement was made this morning by representatives from Zoo Atlanta and DreamWorks Animation, the official sponsor of the 100 Day Giant Panda Cub Celebration and the naming of Po . Actor Jack Black, who voiced the iconic character of Po the panda in "Kung Fu Panda" – which grossed over $630 million at the worldwide box office – and who will reprise his role in the upcoming sequel, was present for the naming of the newborn panda cub.

“Today’s announcement is the beginning of an amazing alliance between Zoo Atlanta and DreamWorks Animation. Our organizations share a commitment to giant panda conservation, particularly at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding,” said Raymond B. King , President and CEO of Zoo Atlanta. “We are proud and honored to share this moment with Jack Black, who has already helped to bring the importance of saving this species to a new generation of conservationists.”

Giant pandas are among the world’s rarest mammals, with fewer than 1,600 believed to remain in the wild. The giant panda program at Zoo Atlanta supports conservation programs at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and in nature reserves in China .

In the "Kung Fu Panda" films, Po is an unlikely hero challenged by preconceived notions of what a kung fu warrior should be. Following the likeable but clumsy Po and his allies on a series of adventures, the films celebrate the power of self-worth and the ability of an individual to affect positive change.

These themes are equally fitting for the giant panda cub. He is an ambassador for his species, helping to draw attention to the plight of giant pandas in the wild. Born to Lun Lun on November 3, 2010, the 3-month-old now known as Po is already proving to be a great ambassador. Followed by thousands of fans on the world-famous PandaCam presented by EarthCam, the cub is expected to make his public debut in late March or early April. "Beastly" Press

Beastly Logo
"Beastly" is a teen romance about learning how to see past false surfaces to discover true inner beauty.

Seventeen year old Kyle (Alex Pettyfer) is the spoiled, shallow and incredibly popular prince of his high school kingdom. Entirely captivated and empowered by his own physical appearance, Kyle foolishly chooses Kendra (Mary-Kate Olsen), a goth classmate rumored to be a witch, as his latest target for humiliation. Unfazed by his cruel behavior, Kendra decides to teach him a lesson – she transforms him into someone as unattractive on the outside as he is on the inside. Now he has one year to find someone who can see past the surface and love him, or he will remain “Beastly” forever. His only hope, an unassuming classmate he never noticed named Lindy (Vanessa Hudgens), may be his best chance to prove that love is never ugly.

Vanessa Hudgens ("High School Musical") and Alex Pettyfer ("I Am Number Four") star in "Beastly" for CBS Films, the film division within CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS.A and CBS). Daniel Barnz ("Phoebe In Wonderland") directed the project which will make its theatrical debut in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico on March 4, 2011.

Susan Cartsonis ("No Reservations," "Aquamarine," "What Women Want") produced through her company, Storefront Pictures. Roz Weisberg and Michael Flynn are executive producers. In addition to his role as director, Barnz wrote the screenplay, which is based on the Alex Flinn novel of the same name.

This film has been rated PG-13 by the MPAA for language including crude comments, brief violence and some thematic material.
